When one of Earth’s poles reaches its greatest tilt away from the Sun, it is the winter solstice. The longest night of the year gives a space for creatures of the night to have the most fun. The Sun of the old year has died, and at the Winter Solstice it is reborn, to grow anew. It is truly a time for ceremony, to celebrate the coming of the light.
