What is BLOCAUS about?

Founded in 2012, BLOCAUS is an event series, based in Paris promoting techno events at various venues in the capital, showcasing other label nights and giving a number of international artists their Paris debut performance. Influenced by the underground scene, BLOCAUS is a showcase for local Paris artists in collaboration with international guests. BLOCAUS’ resident artists are Anetha, EXAL, AWB, BLNDR, ABSL & Von Grall. This time Blocaus is traveling to Prague’s Ankali for the first time.

Hosted by ONYX, the showcase will be headlined by BLNDR and AWB, two forward-thinking techno DJs and producers based in France. POLYGON’s Fabian will open the night with an esoteric DJ set.

AWB is a key figure in Paris’s techno scene & co-founder of Taapion Records, together with Shlømo & PVNV. Indeed since 2013, AWB teamed up with his partners and started the label Taapion Records as a platform for their own work and that of artists whose work they admire like Sterac aka Steve Rachmad, Conforce, Antigone or Francois X. production wise, after a track called «Twelve forteresses » made in collaboration with Shlømo on the Taapion Records 002, he’ll release his solo debut EP called « Celestial Longitude » on February 2016 with 2 remixes from Antigone and Shlømo & PVNV. After this, he released tracks on Soma and Raw Imprint, both on various artists EP. His sound oscillates between deep / atmospheric techno and broken beats, with film scoring influence. AWB makes a precise and intimate techno flow who seduces the dancefloor, mixing new and old vinyls range from deep, intricate techno, through an acid and groovy darkness with some melodic gems along the way. At the end of 2015, he joined the Blocaus crew as a Resident DJ alongside Anetha & EXAL, BLNDR & ABSL.

French artist based in Paris, BLNDR is an emerging figure of the contemporary deep techno scene. When it comes to his productions, He has his own characteristic deep sound: deep rhythms and atmospheric elements have always played a major role in his music. BLNDR released on labels such as Hypnus Records & Silent Season and have been remixed by artists such as Cio D’or , Svreca or Evigt Morker. Having many others big projects in the pipeline to be released in the next months, BLNDR is surely someone to watch. BLNDR’s hard work has been recognized and rewarded with many gigs in France and abroad such as KHIDI in Tbilisi, Contact in Tokyo, Vurt in Seoul, Bloc. in London, Concrete and Rex Club in Paris, Tresor and About Blank in Berlin. Expect much more in the months and years to come for this talented artist!
