We prompted ChatGPT with a trivial question: Why do people celebrate the New Year? One of the replies: “It’s an excuse to embrace optimism, hope, and happiness for the future.”

A straightforward response, sure, but there is some contradiction to it that provokes a thought: Do we need excuses for optimism and hope? Shouldn’t optimism and happiness for the future be a normal, daily thing?

We try to create space for optimism all year long. Of course, not every night is going to be that night, we learned that. But even with all what has been going on during past 12 months in the big world outside – and will continue happening in 2025 – we also saw a lot of hope and happiness inside that little world of ours. And that’s definitely something to cherish.
