Marco Shuttle
SO
Despite the obvious associations we never wanted to give a clear definition to what Archiv Teknologi’s title means. Rigid definitions don’t go well with music’s abstractness. Yet, the most influential aspect defining these series, more than any genres heard during those long nights, is actually a person who played the most of them: fleika. The endurance he brought to the table is what makes Archiv Teknologi the night it is, generated by an endless exchange between the crowd which endures the longest and fleika’s samurai-like approach to DJing.
Marco Shuttle gets very stubborn about playing records he wants to play, even when it’s hard to make them fit in with what’s in his record bag. With his own mesmeric blend of all that techno can invoke – the ambience and the abstractness, the weird and the eerie, the groove and the tribalism – he proves that this music is more than just a genre. He doesn’t play to make everyone happy and we are very very happy he’s coming to Ankali once again.
Our paths cross once again also with Satoshi Aoyagi, the mythical figure of the Labyrinth festival also known as SO. From the love-at-first-sight encounter at Nachtdigital, which then extended into a spontaneous gig at Stalin in 2016, through his first Ankali visit the year after to his impeccable performance at Harmony & nite vibes in 2019, each time he took over the sound system we almost floated in awe. So much so that we wish to float again [pun intended].
