How can we nurture safer spaces? What can we, people involved in club culture, build shelters for the community? Four guests coming from various scenes and with different backgrounds will discuss different approaches in creating safer spaces, community building and how to tackle discrimination, exclusivity and harassment. Gravity artists KILLA of Lecken collective and Monster of Oramics initiative will participate in the discussion to bring perspectives of artist-activists with experience in queer, community-oriented and inclusive projects. Revier Südost‘s diversity coach and awareness team member Steven Dei-Kwarteng will join the debate as representative of the club, which has recently gone under a major policies overhaul with far-reaching structural changes after a problematic incident causing the club to close and face a number of accusations. Fourth guest of the panel is Karolína Křížová, a representative of Konsent, Czech NGO focusing on prevention of sexual violence and harassment.
––––
Taking a ‘break’ from a week-long workshop held at Ankali and presenting their research and work will be the team of Temporary Pleasure, an international collective of architects, event-makers and club creatives who focus on generating new ways to imagine, build, and use the club – together.
––––
And what about the future? The final panel will look back to look forward, examine the now and glimpse at the future. Sharing their perspectives and visions on what’s to come in the world of club & electronic music culture will be Ruggero Pietromarchi (Terraforma), John Gillen (Temporary Pleasure) and Terry Rivers (Queer Spaces Network).
