On April 30th, over at Pluto/Planeta Za, we’re buzzing with excitement to finally reveal something we’ve poured our hearts into, Darna. Before we dive into the day’s events, we’ll give you a warm introduction to the project and spill the beans to our plans for the day

So, what’s Darna all about? Well, it’s like a cozy haven for minority voices, a journey where we learn, share, and grow together within our SWANA community and beyond.

We’re big believers in honouring our roots, past, and present, in a way that’s deeper than just putting on a show. That’s why we’re taking this leap, and we’d love for you to jump in with us.

Pluto, sibling of Ankali, and Planeta Za couldn’t be more perfect for our first meetup.

We’ve lined up talks, discussions, and workshops to kick things off. Leading the charge are our four co-founders, Yasmin Ibrahim, Mariam Ojeil, Youssef Moursi, Tohfa, and we’re especially thrilled to have Zeinab Kirikou, aka ZEY, a powerhouse activist, artist, and educator, we do not want to get into details but all we can say that they will be hosting a workshop for the BIPOC community, we also will have some food for you to try for free and the food will be served by a secret guest that we will unveil later.

Wrapping it all up, Youssef Motus & Tohfa, aka takaDumm, will guide us through a two-hour listening session, drinks will be ready for you to sip & pillows to lay down to listen.
