No Borders, our party series focused on expanding club sounds, welcomes two heavyweights of the ever-fluctuating Schengen club scene going back-to-back all night: Ivan Smagghe and Vladimir Ivković.

The name of the Salon Des Amateurs resident Vladimir Ivković must ring a bell to any Ankali regular as he’s already played in A last summer along with Lena Willikens. Yet this is where the certainty ends since Vladimir is a relentless detector of alternative paths to direct the sounds of the past towards discrepant future. As usual we could only be guessing what the slo-mo tribal trance mastermind has up his sleeve at this point in time.

Joining him on this extended journey through bass-time continuum will be a legend of the French scene Ivan Smagghe, a composer and producer “who became a DJ almost by chance around 1992” and whose biography is far too long to comprehend. He’s produced within the duo Black Strobe as well as crafted remixes for Superpitcher, The XX, Discodeine, Au Revoir Simone or Tiga. In the meantime he has been running the label Les Disques de la Mort and you could catch him causing serious damage to dance floors all over the world. And we honestly don’t exaggerate if we say this is about 5% of his life in music. No Borders at its best.
